01-Apr-2023
This week marks the end of India's financial year which runs from Apr to Mar. This is the first profit year for me from trading options after 2-3 years of losses. I will take it as an improvement and a ray of hope with lots of work to be done especially in the areas of cutting losses early and avoid over-trading. The key takeaways from the last year are 1) wait for the opportunity 2) limit your position size 3) take losses early 4) emotional control plays an important role 5) don't be greedy.
From a weekly results perspective, it was a terrible week, attributed to same old problem of not taking losses early. My regular #Adani short trade eroded all weekly gains and resulted in net loss of 25k for this week. I am not changing my view on Adani though but have to be careful as it is driven by lots of news flow. I am entering the new year with some short positions on #nifty which are currently taking losses.
As predicted, it was a terribly busy week at work and more action to follow next week. Pile of work never ends, and as I was putting a to-do list for next week, it's again looks overwhelming. Next week is short in both Thailand and Philippines so expect to get some breather.
I have travelled back to India and will be spending most of the weekends catching up with pending home errands. The weather is surprisingly very pleasant with some rains and chilly winds at this time of the year. I have already missed two days of morning walk after the travel, so need to get back on that pretty soon.
It's a birthday week for my wife and we will also be celebrating our marriage anniversary next week. There is no doubt that weekends are going to be very very busy 😊
